Two brothers, Karbalayi Muhammad ʻAli and ʻAli Akbar, complain to the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, against Fath al-Dawlah, who left his wife, the sister of these two brothers, and his child 15 months ago. In this period, his child died and these two brothers, who have their own families to feed, must now provide for their sister too; the office [of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs] in Hamadan writes to this Ministry that Fath al-Dawlah, who works for the British and had been in Hamadan for business, had married, but left his wife after the business was completed. Riza Quli Khan Nizam al-Saltanah to Zahra Sultan ‘Izzat al-Saltanah
Riza Quli Khan Nizam al-Saltanah writes to his daughter, Zahra Sultan ‘Izzat al-Saltanah, telling him that he arrived in Tehran about twenty days ago but did not have a chance to write to her earlier; he asks about ‘Izzat al-Saltanah's daughter Huma and whether she can talk and walk yet; he informs her that he might accept the governorship of Burujird, Luristan, and ‘Arabistan [Khuzistan], in which case he could visit his daughter and her husband, Salar Lashkar, in Hamadan for a few days.

Telegram from Asad Allah to ‘Abd al-Husayn Mirza Farmanfarma
Concerning the deeds of Salar al-Dawlah in Kirmanshah including appointing Pasha Khan as the Governor of Hamadan and Baqir Khan Kakavand as the governor of Kangavar, Khazal, and Asadabad. The author mentions that Salar al-Dawlah, accompanied by one thousand soldiers, went to Kangavar and Hamadan, and the residents of Kangavar ran to the Imamzadah out of fear. The author sent his household to Malayir.

Riza Quli Khan Nizam al-Saltanah to Zahra Sultan ‘Izzat al-Saltanah
Riza Quli Khan Nizam al-Saltanah writes to his daughter, Zahra Sultan ‘Izzat al-Saltanah, telling her: that he has been very busy and did not have a chance to write earlier, that his resignation was not approved, and that he is arranging for Khanum, Ma‘sumah Khanum, Taqi, and Mahmud to go to Hamadan from Tehran by the end of the month to stay with Zahra Sultan and Huma for a few days, after which they could all join him in Burujird. He then mentions the illness with which Huma was struck according to Farmanfarma's letter and conveys his hope that she is feeling better.

Molière play performed by Alliance students
The students are dressed for a performance of Molière’s Le Bourgeois gentilhomme [The Bourgeois Gentleman], translated into Persian by Amir Minu. The performance took place soon after the official unveiling of women and for the first time girls appeared on stage without veils.
